.: 7 Best Weight Loss Motivation Tips

Why would anyone even need weight loss motivation tips?
Motivation appears to be the #1 factor determining the success of a weight loss or fitness program. Can you believe that?
In other words, I could give you the EXACT exercises to do and foods to eat and tell you EXACTLY when to do them and when to eat them and at what volume. But if you aren't motivated to complete the program or do what it takes to meet your goal then all of that is worthless.
Here are 7 weight loss motivation tips you MUST do to keep yourself motivated and strong while embarking on a fat loss or fitness program:
1. Prepare yourself mentally.
You must set specific goals with a clear time line.
You must know why you want to achieve that goal and feel passionate about being successful.
You must decide you are willing to do whatever you can to achieve this goal.
2. Have a well thought out action plan.
You must have a workout program and be willing to follow it as written.
You must have a nutrition plan and be willing to follow it as written.
You must take the time to familiarize yourself with the programs before you get started to make sure you understand completely and any questions you may have are answered.
You must be willing to take MASSIVE action and commit to the programs. Go BIG!
3. Take progress pictures.
Probably the most effective of all the weight loss motivation tips.
Using the scale to judge body transformation progress is a no-no, especially if you are following a program which encourages fat loss and muscle growth at the same time, which I hope you are (or will be).
You must use other forms of measurements to track progress. Try skin fold calipers, circumference measurements, or underwater weighing.
And if you didn't want to deal with finding a professional to help you with those you could always do the best measurement there is:
Look in the mirror and take progress pictures. All you need to do to know your body is transforming is to look at it. You know your body. Trust what you see.
You can also take a picture of yourself every few days or once per week to document over time your transformation. Seeing your body change right before your eyes will be the best motivation you will ever need.
4. Surround yourself with support.
You must recruit support from your family, especially those you live with since they will be around you while you are preparing for the journey, eating, and working out.
You must recruit the support of your friends since you will likely be in social situations that will tempt you to stray from your diet.
You must recruit the support of a coach or mentor. Studies show that having a coach or mentor significantly increases your chances of success in whatever you are looking to achieve.
You must recruit the support of a community of people who are working towards the same fitness/fat loss goals as you are. This is a great place to ask questions, share successes, learn best practices, and find solutions to challenges.
5. Start each day by reviewing motivational quotes, reading motivational articles or books, or watching motivational videos.
Collect a group of quotes, articles and/or books that you find particularly inspiring and keep them on your nightstand. Each morning review one of these for 5-10 minutes for a morning boost of motivation.
6. Establish rewards for meeting specific goals.
Is weight loss your goal?
Then when you lose your first 10 pounds you can finally go see that movie you have been dying to get to.
When you lose your first 25 pounds you buy yourself a new bike because you will be out on it all the time showing off your new body.
And when you reach your final goal, perhaps you go buy a few new outfits or take a long weekend to go to your favorite vacations spot.
These are just good examples, your rewards will be specific to your desires - anything that will appropriately motivate you to press on!
7. The motivation is within you.
YOU must find YOUR reason and your OWN motivation to change. If you haven't found your own internal motivation for meeting your fitness goals, do it now or the likelihood of reaching your goals is slim.

.: 3 Weight Loss Motivation Tips to Keep Your Weight Loss on Track

If you want to lose weight but have struggled to follow through in the past, you can absolutely slim down easily this time around, but you do have to ensure that you don't fall into your old diet traps (at least without having weight loss motivation tips that work!).
To ensure that you stay focused on even the toughest days, it helps to have weight loss motivation tips on hand that remind you why you're doing all this great work to get your body healthy, fit and fabulous.
Here are 3 powerful weight loss motivation tips to guide you:
1) Make the time you spend concentrating on losing weight as fun and interesting as possible. Whether you're a single mom with little outside help with your children or you're a married mom simply juggling the busy schedules of multiple kids, losing weight tends to be pretty low on the priority list of things to accomplish every day, which is why it's likely been a problem in the past. However, my favorite weight loss motivation tips involve fun because if you can find ways to ensure that you're enjoying yourself, you'll find ways to want to press on even on tougher days.
Combine food prep with kid time. Recruit little ones to "help" you in the kitchen by chopping fruit or veggies with a dull knife while you're making a healthy dish. Use small kids' body weight in your workouts instead of barbells, or let the kids be your spotter during your routine if you are using small, safe weights. Or simply turn on some music and dance away with your kids or on your own. The best part is that being active helps you feel better, manage stress and increases your energy level, so find ways to be active that you love, even if it's not a normal gym workout.
The simplest weight loss motivation tips are often the very best ones, and this one alone can be all it takes to get you focused.
2) Set a goal to simplify your focus. Do not simply say, "I want to lose weight". Be specific so that the goal is attainable and personalized to your needs. You will also need to set a time frame. Saying ambiguous things like "by my birthday" or "by the winter" will not help you achieve your goal. The less specific you are, the more weight loss motivation tips you'll need because you're not telling your mind which direction to go - which is the equivalent of saying "I'd like to go to the grocery store" and then driving around aimlessly trying this road and then that one without necessarily getting even one mile closer to your goal.
I don't typically recommend goals like losing a particular number of pounds in a week simply because we cannot control the rate at which our bodies lose weight healthfully, but at the same time, we can absolutely set and achieve goals like taking care of our bodies with healthy, weight-loss-promoting foods for 6 weeks. Aim to achieve things you can control rather than things that are out of your hands, and you'll feel more steady throughout the process.
This is one of the most powerful weight loss motivation tips of all because if you can get focused on a specific goal, it's much easier to achieve success.
3) Partner with a friend who's also looking to slim down and you'll find that your motivation stays much stronger due to the accountability factor alone, much less having someone to keep you company. You may even be able to ask your husbands to take turns watching the kids while you and your buddy work out, prep food or brainstorm how to handle tough situations. You can also share recipes and weight loss motivation tips, as well as information on local resources that support your weight loss.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that you want your healthy new habits to become part of The Flow - which is what I call it when you hit your stride, and suddenly it seems much easier to stay on track without needing a lot of outside weight loss motivation tips.
Following these weight loss motivation tips should help you reach The Flow even sooner. Give each idea an honest try even if it initially seems too simple to make a difference, and you'll be getting results in no time!

.: Weight Loss Motivation Tips You Can Count On

When it comes to weight loss, motivation always plays a major role. In fact, for many people, it's the single most important element of all. While information is always useful, it's not hard to find nowadays. If anything, there's so much information on diets, exercise, and other habits that either help or harm your weight loss efforts that it can be confusing, leading to information overload.
Yet even information overload is only a problem when it interferes with your motivation. That's the real key -to have a certain goal and move towards it, despite any obstacles. For many of us, this is a very inconstant factor. Our motivation varies from day to day. Yet this can present a real problem, because to make progress with a goal like weight loss (or almost any goal, really), consistency is a must. If you only stick to your diet or exercise when you feel like it, which might be every other day, your results will be disappointing.
Let's look at some helpful tips that can help keep you motivated to lose weight.
Practice Self-Acceptance
This can be a tough one, but it's the starting point for any type of self-improvement. Even though you may want to change, you have to be accepting of where you are right now. This may sound like a paradox, but if you think about it, it can be resolved.
Consider the analogy of driving a car to a destination you're anxious to get to. You may wish the trip would go by faster, and you may be looking forward to arriving, but you don't have to hate where you are now. In fact, you can actually enjoy the drive, savoring how good it will feel when you get there!
It may not be quite as easy to do this with a goal like weight loss, but it's possible. Think that every day you're getting closer to your goal, whether it's visible or not. If you feel frustrated or impatient with yourself, you'll only be making it harder. If you have a real problem with self-acceptance, use whatever tools you can find, or get help if necessary. Ultimately, it's even more important to feel good about yourself than to lose weight, though you can have both!
Connect With Others
While it's true that you have to do the work when it comes to making changes to your diet and lifestyle, others can help. Usually, what you need most of all is moral support. This can be very simple things, like a conversation when you feel especially challenged.
There are many ways to do this without being a burden to other people. Just let people know you're trying to lose weight -you don't have to make a big deal about it. If you can find a friend who has the same goal, you might work out together or discuss strategies, but even if you can't find such a partner, it's still helpful to have people to talk to.
You can even find quite a bit of support online. Join a forum or two that's devoted to fitness or weight loss. Ask and answer questions, meet some people. This will give you a sense of connection that can make a big difference in your long term motivation!
Focus on Positive Habits, Not Deprivation
This is an interesting one, because it involves both your actual diet and your state of mind. Most diets tell you to eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains and avoid sweets, junk foods, unhealthy carbs and the like. This is all good advice, but there are two basic ways you can look at this -from the point of view of what to do, or what to avoid.
No one likes to feel deprived. Many people who have weight problems are in the habit of "emotional eating," using food to feel better. Actually, almost everyone does this to some extent. Using will power to stop yourself from eating "bad" foods is usually not very successful in the long run.
Yet if you focus mainly on the other side of the coin - eating more healthy foods - a real shift can happen. For example, make up your mind when you go shopping that you're going to buy the healthy foods first. If you use shopping lists, put the fruits and vegetables at the top of the list. Make healthier foods the main focus of your meals, even if you're also eating less healthy items.
One result of this is that, as you add more healthy foods to your diet, you'll have less room in both your stomach and your budget for unhealthy and fattening foods. Additionally, as you make a transition in your diet, your tastes gradually change. This doesn't mean that if you love sweets now that your sweet tooth will totally disappear. But, believe it or not, it can become less extreme. Junk foods, especially sugar, salt and fried foods, have addictive qualities, so as you eat less of them, you crave them less.
So focus mainly on what you should eat, and you won't feel as deprived from your diet.
Make Your Exercise Fun!
This is a tip you may have heard before, but it's an important one. Forcing yourself to do workouts that you hate is counterproductive. No matter how much will power you have, it's next to impossible to push yourself week after week to the gym if you consider the treadmill to be akin to a Medieval torture device.
Almost everybody enjoys some type of sport or strenuous activity. This is usually enhanced by finding a partner or doing a group activity, like walking with people, taking a dance class or playing a sport you enjoy.
Try to combine exercise with practical activities so you have more time for it. Walk or ride your bike to the store. This won't work if you're stocking up on groceries for the whole week, but you can fit a few essentials into a backpack or basket that's attached to your bike. If it's practical, ride your bike or walk to work or school.
Make use of visualization. This is something you can do all the time - visualize how you'll look and feel at your ideal weight. However, it's especially effective with exercise. When you're not exercising, imagine yourself doing a workout and really enjoying it and feeling yourself getting fitter, healthier and thinner. There's evidence that this changes your brain chemistry and effects the body. And it will very likely carry over into your actual workouts, making them more enjoyable!
These are just a few tips to help you stay in a positive frame of mind as you lose weight. There are many other things you can do as well, of course. The main point to remember is that if you want to be motivated for weight loss, don't dwell on what you think is wrong or lacking in you now, but on the benefits you're seeking.

.: 6 Tips For Weight Loss Motivation

It is very easy to start a diet and fitness program. Millions do it every day. Have you ever wondered if so many people are dieting, why is there such an obese epidemic? The answer is that most lose their motivation within a couple of weeks and stop their weight loss journey. It is easy to get motivated for a couple of days or a week, but very hard to keep that motivation going. Listed below you will find 6 weight loss motivation tips that have proven to be beneficial in keeping people working toward their fitness goals.
1. Write your goals down. It does not matter if your goal is to lose 10 lbs of fat or 200 lbs of fat it needs to be in writing. The very act of putting pen to paper will spark your motivation. You should review your goal when you start your day and right before going to bed.
2. Picture your success. Find a picture of someone, that has the body you would like to have. Replace their head with yours and place it somewhere that you will see it everyday. Every time you see it, you will be refocused on your goal for a healthier you.
3. Have a why. Ensure that your reason for losing fat and getting healthy are strong ones. Look at things like being around for your family, not having to take expensive medications, and just being able to enjoy life.. As the saying goes "when the why is strong enough the how becomes easy".
4. Make sub goals. Be sure to break your goals down. If your goal is to lose 60 lbs that can be a bit overwhelming. If you break the goal weight loss down to 5 lbs at a time it is easier to focus on 5 lbs at a time. As a bonus once you reach each 5 lbs weight loss you will be much more motivated to continue.
5. Join a fitness challenge. There are many challenges that you can join where you compete with others. Competition is always a strong motivator plus the prizes that are given to the winner don't hurt either.
6. Reward yourself. As you reach each weight loss goal give yourself a reward. Make the rewards proportional. The reward for 5 lbs should not be as big as the reward for your final goal weight reward. That way you are always working toward a bigger prize. This will definitely keep you motivated throughout your fat loss program.
Just take it one day at a time and get the most out of each day. Before you know it you will be in great shape.

.: Weight Loss Motivation - What Is Yours?

When it comes to losing weight it seems like the only way you are successful is if you have some powerful weight loss motivation. Just kind of wanting to lose weight doesn't seem to get the job done. Motivation can come in many different forms but let's take a look at three of the main weight loss motivations we run into.
The first weight loss motivation is a particular event. People often try to lose some weight before their wedding or a high school reunion. There are many different programs on the market that will help get you to your ideal weight for a particular event as long as the amount of weight you want to lose is reasonable for the amount of time you have to lose that weight. These products and your attitude may not be a great combination for long-term success. If your focus was on the event then your motivation to stay that size might be gone with the passing of time.
The second weight loss motivation people have is to get their loved ones off of their back. Whether your husband doesn't like your post-pregnancy body or your children are telling you that you are too unhealthy, you are trying to lose weight to make other people happy. Sometimes when your motivation is to please others, you actually lose weight and are happy with the results. Most of the time; however, you lose weight until they quit talking about it and then the weight comes back on.
The final weight loss motivation is self-motivation. You want to lose weight to please only yourself. If someone else is happy about it, that is just a bonus. Maybe you realize how unhealthy being overweight is and you don't want to burden your family with the cost of being overweight. Maybe you are looking at health concerns that you would rather not deal with and weighing less is the answer. It might even be that you are just ready to be a smaller size. Whatever your personal reason is for wanting to lose weight, it is the only true weight loss motivation that will keep you on track for long-term weight management.
Once you have had an issue with your weight, it will most likely always be a problem. That doesn't mean that you will always be overweight or have your weight yo-yo. What it does mean is that your weight loss motivation will have to become motivation to remain in a certain weight range. The scale will always be part of your bathroom décor and you will need to visit it regularly to keep yourself from gaining too much weight and ending up where you started. It really requires a lifestyle change instead of diet products. If you are ready to make a change in your life you can seek out the right plan for you and since you have the right weight loss motivation you will be successful.

.: Weight Loss Motivation Tips

OK. I got to the point of mentally being conscious about eating healthier and losing weight. But, what weight loss motivation tips could I realistically use on a daily basis to stay on track?
If there is one thing I have learned in 56 years on this planet, it's that most people will only make a change in their habits when the pain of making that change is less than the burden of continuing the habit and what it produces. However, everyone has a different pain threshold and tricks to either ignore or justify the pain, at least to a point. If the habit is a bad one, it means you check out early if you don't make some changes. Personally, I kinda like it here. So, I thought I might try to hang around for awhile.
First, get yourself some good scales and stand on them every morning. After a week or so of being good, you will see lower numbers and that is motivation in itself. Next, go to the mall or any big box retailer and just look around. Notice how many people are overweight. Then notice how many are riding around on handicapped scooters just because they are too big to walk! That's what motivated me. Mercy! It's a cryin' shame. I realize there are exceptions, but not that many! Next, lower your threshold of what your willing to put with about yourself. Even if your spouse or whoever thinks your fine, but you know your not, then make yourself uncomfortable and decide to make the necessary changes now. Look at where you want to be in six months and vow to be there.
If you are getting a good 30 minutes or more of fairly intense exercise, 4 or more days a week, you will start to feel like a champion. This is key! I can firmly attest to the fact that after just three weeks of combining weights and aerobics I gained not only momentum in weight loss, but I felt so much better. And the better I felt, the more I wanted to feel that way. It doesn't take long to figure out, even for me, that the changes I had made were the reasons I felt so much better and had so much more energy. I promise. Just make it through that first 3 to 4 weeks and you will notice such a difference, you will be able to look that fried chicken straight in the crust and just smile and walk away.
I have always felt that motivation truly comes from within based mostly on external factors. For me, tips for weight loss motivation came from a combination of getting older and seeing the future, combined with seeing the truly handicapped not able to use a scooter because they were all taken by fat people. Be happy!
