Many people practice weight loss program by reducing their food intake to reduce weight. Actually when food intake drops, that means the drop in calories intake. To the body, a sustained drop in calories means one thing - its survival time. The body begins to hoard body fat as sort of an insurance policy against the coming hard times. If the decreased calorie intake means something has to go weight-wise, the body sure isn't giving up that insurance. Instead, the body will begin to sacrifice healthy muscle tissues which lead to various other health complications.

Mistake #3
Some people choose extreme diet programs to reduce weight quickly. This type of weight loss programs will cause your body switches to “safe mode”. When this happens, the body slows its metabolism to protect itself from starvation because it is underfed. When you stop the diet program and back to normal food consumption, like yo-yo diets, the sluggish metabolism fails to digest food at normal rate. Thus, the body happily starts regaining all that lost muscle tissues and the weight gain back.

Mistake #4
People gain weight because they go along with the flow (what many people do) instead of eating to live. Today they depend much on processed food which imitates the smells and sights of freshly cooked food using additives. The processed food contains high calories which cause you gain weight very fast. Why not skip the fake food and make real food? The best way to lose weight is to eat wholesome or natural foods prepared at the peak of freshness.

Some people forget about the need of regular exercise because they are busy with their daily work. Regular exercise make you feel better and raises the body's metabolism, so that calories are burned more efficiently. Therefore, some moderate exercise you do it regularly is enough to lose weight.
