A Glimpse At Banana Nutrition

By Jessie Atkinson

When was the last time you had a banana?
Did you know that if you haven't been eating bananas regularly that you've been missing out on the good stuff?
Bananas are full of vitamins and mineral, all of which the body needs. Eating bananas will keep you energized and healthy for the long haul.

Did you know that bananas have no cholesterol?
They have no sodium either. One banana has about 105 calories depending on it's size, and about 3 of those calories are from fat. They also have 3 grams of fiber, one gram of protein and about 14 grams of sugar.

But, you can't sit around eating bananas all day oh no, because of the sugar and fat. Even though it's little, it can go against you. So it's best to limit yourself to maybe just a couple a day. One good thing to note, is that you burn fat just processing this fruit.

In addition, bananas also contain vitamins A, B6, C, Manganese, Potassium and Magnesium, just to name a few. Just one banana is enough to help regulate blood pressure and put a stop to muscle cramps.

Bananas also help strengthen bones, prevent heart diseases, help reduce swelling and create white blood cells. All of that on top of burning fat, pretty good huh.

Bananas have fiber, and this helps aid your digestion. Unlike processed snacks, which will only leave you hungry for more garbage, bananas make you feel full and very energetic.

As a matter of fact, the next time you get a chance, take a look at the ingredients on one of those energy drinks. Some of those ingredients I can't even pronounce. Not to mention you get a caffeine crash or an upset stomach or the jitters. Not with bananas though, because it's nice and even, and there's no crash. This is what mother nature intended.

Now if your having trouble downing a few bananas, don't force it, especially if you don't like the way they taste. And if your having a hard time digesting them then there's other options.

Probably one of the most popular ways of eating a banana is to make a smoothie. Get out the blender, put in some ice and start off with that. The next time around add in some other fruit, play around with it until you get it to where you like it. Just remember that there's no need to add any sugar to this, due to the fact that bananas already have natural sugar in them, so it's already sweet.

They can also be added to fruit bowls or served as sides. So if you need a quick boost of energy and you want something that tastes great and is full of the good stuff, why not have a banana, at least give it a try. Have a banana, they're cheap and they taste great too.
