Every day, we see celebrities on tv who have lost a ton of weight almost overnight. We rush out and buy the product hoping to achieve the same results. No matter what these ads promise, there is no overnight solution to weight loss. Regardless of what product or system you decide on you are going to have to put in work to get results.

Believe In Yourself

One of the most important factors for weight loss is belief in yourself.

Having the belief that you can is just as important as exercising and eating healthier. If you try to lose weight but have doubts in your ability to do so, you will not succeed.

Write down the reasons it is important for you to lose weight. Now, determine the amount of weight that you need to lose and write it down. Promise yourself that you will not quit until you accomplish your goal.

Staying on track is going to require you to stay positive. Feed your mind daily with motivational quotes, affirmations and the success stories of other people who have successfully lost weight. Lets face it, there are going to be days when you feel like quitting. These are times when you really have to dig deep down within yourself and find the strength to keep going. Go back and read your reason why. That will reignite your fire and keep you in the game until you come out a winner.

Drink Water

Water is the gas that fuels the engine of our bodies. The body needs water to function efficiently.

Also drinking water helps to give you the feeling of being full which will require you to eat less during the day.

When you drink the amount of water that your body needs, it will help your body digest food better and assist with eliminating harmful toxins from your system.

You can also utilize water to help you eat less. Having a glass prior to eating a meal will leave less room in your stomach and therefore cause you to eat less food.

Exercise

For successful and long term weight loss exercise needs to be a part of the equation. Weight loss can be accomplished without exercise but when you add in exercise it tend to bring faster and longer lasting benefits.

Dont like exercise? Then do something fun that doesnt feel like exercise, like going outside and playing with the children or taking a bike ride. Do whatever exercise you want as long as it motivates you to get up off the couch and start moving.

Working out 5 days a week is ideal but if this seems like too much in the beginning start out with 3 days per week and build from there.

As you become more comfortable with exercise try adding in some high impact aerobics such as Taebo or Zumba.

Remember exercise is not only key for weight loss but it also helps to improve your overall health.

Eat 5 Or 6 Small Meals Daily

Eating 5 to 6 smaller meals instead of 3 large meals will help you stay full and satisfied all through the day.

If your goal is to take in no more than 1500 calories per day you have to make sure all your small meals combined do not exceed this number.

Learning to plan out your meals can be challenging in the beginning. Until you get the hang of prepare your normal 3 meals and cut them in half.

Get At Least 7 Hours Of Sleep Nightly

When your body is deprived of sleep it affects the amount of ghrelin in your system. This hormone causes an increase in appetite when the body is not getting the amount of sleep that it requires.

The ideal amount of sleep is between 7 to 8 hours per night. When the body is deprived of sleep it throws off your metabolism.

A good way to sleep better is to relax in a hot bath containing lavender an hour or two before bed and avoid anything that has caffeine after you eat dinner.
