Protein Bars For Getting Rid Of Fat

By Renee Curry

Many of us snack on protein bars to give us energy after an intense workout. They can also be a convenient travel snack, an occasional mini-meal when we don't have a lot of time or a meal replacement if we are trying to reduce our calorie intake.

In many of these situations, we are picking protein bars to remain healthy and often lose weight. Nonetheless, when you look at a grocery store shelf filled with products, how do you figure out which bars are better for slimming down?

The Cliff Notes Version:

The bottom line is that we should avoid sugar and processed foods. Some individuals look for "low carb" on product packaging, but you do not want to be deceived into eating a great deal of processed reduced carb trash either.

However, There's a Challenge ...

A big obstacle is that a lot of protein bars contain a considerable quantity of sugar, and some have a variety of several kinds of sweetener. Some labels even detail sugar as the top ingredient!

I know that a sweetener enhances food taste, but protein bars containing a great deal of sugar are basically candy bars disguised as a healthy snack, in my view. This is similar to a chocolate chip breakfast muffin - isn't that really a cupcake in reality? Hmm ...

What to Search for if You are Looking to Lose Weight:

If you want a super sweet protein bar, that's fine. It simply will not help you in losing weight. If you are seeking to lose weight or maintain your weight loss, look for healthy snack bars that have no processed sweeteners.

This can be difficult, and you will typically need to look for a natural food bar that does not consist of any processed ingredients. An example would be a trail mix bar which contains a combination of natural nuts and seeds with unsweetened coconut or dried fruit.

If you are searching for low sugar, high protein bars, there are some nut and seed bars with protein powder included, such as egg white protein powder. Lots of paleo athletes choose these kinds of protein bars, because they do not consist of milk and they are gluten-free also.

Some More Coll Things ...

Another advantage to eating a low-sugar or no-sugar snack is that it will decrease your hunger for more sugar. Have you ever consumed a high-calorie protein bar and immediately desired more? This is likely a sugar craving, and eating another bar will absolutely not help you lose weight.

Low sugar, unrefined snack bars are generally easier to digest and offer a significant amount of nutrition naturally. Ingredients like nuts and coconut are high in healthy fats, and are therefore helpful for satisfying appetite and food yearnings.

Paleo protein bars are low in sugar and usually have a substantial amount of protein. Too see a comparison graph of different choices, click below.
