Industrial agriculture comes with lots of controversy of late. There are many studies that indicate how harmful it can actually be to consumers. All one needs to do is look around and see the rise in chronic illnesses, likely a result of the use of pesticides, antibiotics, and steroids. It's important to understand that real food actually comes from real food sources. That's why many are questioning the quality of meat sold in butcher shops and grocery stores. Forcing animals to grow or using science in foods isn't natural. On that note, neither is cooking the way it is today. There was less diabetes, obesity was rare, but today it's everywhere. It's also true that organic cuts of meat are more expensive than what one may find on a grocer's shelf. A good solution to this is to reduce the amount of meat consumed, and rather, treat oneself to something healthy less often so that it suits the budget.
