Rid Yourself of Crows Feet
Our skin loses collagen as we age. This causes the skin to starting wrinkling and sagging, and it develops a lack of firmness. Age and a poor skin care routine are the primary causes of crows feet. You should always remove make up with a gentle cosmetic and cotton pads, wear sun cream, moisturize daily and drink plenty of water, because the skin around your eyes is the most delicate skin on your body. Wrinkles are not only formed from age, the causes can range from sun exposure, your diet and even smoking. The way you age is affected heavily by these factors, but it's lucky that you can hold onto your youthful looks through non-surgical methods.

Fine lines that form around your eyes are called crows feet. When you smile, you may notice them more. Over time they develop, and when people squint their eyes they are especially pronounced. Very seldom will you see crows feet in young people. Unfortunately, crows feet often make an appearance too soon, due to too much sun exposure and premature aging. Also contributing to their early formation is smoking, studies show.

Botox injections work by relaxing wrinkle forming facial muscles. As already noted, repetitive facial expressions cause deep wrinkles, such as crows feet. One can dramatically improve their appearance and reduce the visibility of the wrinkles by weakening the muscles that are responsible for these facial expressions. Without taking away or detracting from one's facial expressiveness, Botox can weaken the muscles.

Many people who potentially could be helped by this medicine have been frightened by the popular media, which has caused much confusion and misinformation about Botox. When inexperienced or non-licensed users misuse this medication, especially in non-licensed or non-medical facilities, it leads to negative news about Botox.

As a nonsurgical procedure, Botox can be done well at a doctor's office. In less than 10 minutes, your treatment will be completed. Improvement in the reduction of wrinkles can be seen within 24 hours with continued improvement for up to 5 days. Botox effects remain for at least 3 months, and could endure for up to one year.

Botox should not be used by those who have not been trained how to inject the substance - it is a prescription drug. Used in small amounts, Botox, which is a neurotoxin, can paralyze muscles that are contracting. For instance, Botox binds to the nerve ending when it is injected into the affected area, such as where crows feet form near the eyes. When it binds to the nerve ending, blocking signals to the muscle that causes it to contract, it causes paralysis in that muscle.

Botox injections cause minimal side effects. In some cases, when there is no recovery time a patient has experienced some swelling and redness around the injection site. You can resume you regular routine straightaway after the injection. Occasionally, patients experience a small amount of nausea, bruising or headaches following a treatment, however these quickly diminish.
